Cuttack, Ap 18: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has launched a massive demolition drive in Shyampur Pandakudia, targeting around 150 houses on the second day of the operation. Yesterday, the CMC had already demolished hundreds of structures.

As demolition teams prepared for today’s operations, some residents forcibly resisted, confronting the police. Out of the 68 acres of land that were illegally occupied, 15 acres have been cleared so far. The total value of the 68-acre land is estimated to exceed ₹300 crore.

After the clearance, the government plans to use the land for various development projects, including public housing and other government schemes. The demolition drive is expected to continue for three days.
