Rayagada, May 10: Police have seized a Maoist banner form the Pangalagudi village under the Chandrapur Police limit in the Rayagada district on Friday.
The banner was found scripted threats to the voters persuading them to boycott the forthcoming election.
Sources said that locals sighted a Maoist poster installed on a tree at the Pangalagudi village and informed police in this connection. Acting on it, the Chandrapur police reached the spot and seized the banner.
According to police, the banner is suspected to be hung by the Ghumusar Nagabaii Division of the CPI(M) committee.
Further investigation is underway to find the authenticity and clues regarding the Maoist poster, said police.
