Bhubaneswar, April 4: The only Foreign Post Office (FPO) in the premises of the Postal Printing Press at Mancheswar in Bhubaneswar is facilitating quick export articles to abroad since July 2019.
Articles booked in Odisha for foreign countries were earlier routed through the FPO located in Kolkata and the export was taking time due to delay in processing and transmission for the purpose of customs clearance.
Not the FPO in Mancheswar is facilitating customs clearance and booking of articles or consignments for foreign countries and has become a boon for the customers, who earlier faced delay in processing and transmission of mails and articles.
In view of the earlier system which was time-consuming, the India Post decided to set up the FPO in Bhubaneswar with the joint collaboration of postal and customs departments.
The FPO is facilitating export from Odisha right from household articles, Odia cuisines, important articles and medicines within 10 days.
It is helping customers, including exporters from Odisha, and plays a significant role in promoting and popularising handlooms and handicraft products of the state.
