Man trampled to death by elephant in Dhenkanal

Hindol: A 45-year-old man was killed in a brutal elephant attack at Jayapanga village under the Hindol Forest Range in Dhenkanal district, triggering fresh concerns over the growing threat of human-elephant conflict in the region.

The deceased has been identified as Swapneswar Biswal, a resident of Jayapanga village. According to reports, he had gone to a temple in the evening when he encountered the elephant.

The animal allegedly attacked him, dragged him away and trampled him under its feet, leaving him dead at the spot. The incident has left the local community shocked and raised concerns over the safety of residents living in and around forest areas.

Forest Officials Reach Spot

Following the incident, Forest Department officials reached the spot and took steps to shift the body to the Hindol Sub-Divisional Hospital.
