Hyderabad, August 24: In a gruesome crime that has shocked Telangana, a 27-year-old man allegedly killed his 21-year-old pregnant wife and mutilated her body at their home in Medipally, within the Hyderabad metropolitan limits.

According to police, the accused, employed as a driver with a ride-hailing platform, reportedly strangled his wife following ongoing disputes over family matters. In a bid to erase evidence, he allegedly used a hexa blade to dismember her remains. Investigators revealed that he dumped the head, hands, and legs into the Musi River near Prathapsingaram while keeping the torso hidden in their residence.

Authorities discovered some body parts at the house and have launched an extensive search in the river for the remaining parts.

Reports suggest that on Saturday night, the man initially informed his sister that his wife had gone missing. Sensing something amiss, she alerted another relative, who later escorted him to the police station. Police sources said the accused eventually confessed during questioning.

The dismembered remains have been sent for autopsy, and DNA tests will be conducted to confirm the victim’s identity.

A relationship turned deadly
The couple, originally from Vikarabad district, had been neighbours before their arranged marriage in January 2024. They moved to Boduppal, Hyderabad, soon after, but tensions reportedly surfaced within a month, leading to frequent altercations that ultimately ended in this brutal act.
