Balasore, Aug 5: A woman was allegedly beaten to death with a bucket by her husband in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Kalapna Maiti, wife of Bidyadhar Maiti of Banida village under Jaleswar police limits in Odisha’a Balasore distrit.
According to the sources, the couple used to fight with each other after Bidyadhar returned home consuming liquor. However, on Sunday night, Kalpana had a verbal argument with Bidyadhar after he came home in an inebriated condition.
Following the altercation between them, Bidyadhar attacked his wife to death with a bucket, informed the family members of the deceased to police.
Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s family members, police reached the spot, seized the body and started an investigation into the incident.
