Nayagarh, July 25: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly hung himself after killing his 5-year daughter with poison.
The incident took place at Debottara Colony under the Town police limits in Nayagarh district on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Pulak Biswal and his toddler daughter Palak.
Police sources said Pulak had recently re-married following the death of his first wife. He had a five-year-old daughter from his first wife. Meanwhile, on Monday, the police recovered the bodies of Pulak and his daughter Palak from a closed room, on being informed by the locals.
Police investigation revealed that Pulak hung himself after poisoning his kid reportedly due to family-related stress.
Police have interrogated Pulak’s second wife to ascertain the reason behind the man’s extreme decision, what made him kill the tender child and commit suicide.
