Man hacks wife to death following heated argument in Odisha’s Gajapati

Mohana, Aug 11: In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly hacked his wife to death following a heated argument in Mohana area of Odisha’s Gajapati district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Reshma Bagsingh, while the accused is Ananta Bagsingh.
As per reports, the incident took place in Kunkuni village under Mohana police limits when a heated argument ensued between the couple over issue. Later, it took a violent turn when Ananta, in fit of rage, attacked Reshma with an axe.
In the attack, she sustained grave injuries and died on the spot. Thereafter, the family members rushed her to a nearby hospital where the attending doctors declared her dead.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
The cops have also detained the accused for questioning in connection with the murder.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
