Malkangiri, Nov 3: In a significant drug bust, Malkangiri police have seized over 60 kilograms of liquid ganja, valued at approximately 8 crores, during a raid on Sunday. The illicit substance was being transported through the Chitrakonda area.

Acting on a tip-off, the police launched a crackdown on the location, where they found the illegal trafficking operation. However, upon witnessing the authorities, the smugglers managed to flee the scene before they could be apprehended. Despite the escape, the police successfully seized the liquid ganja, along with eight motorcycles and bicycles that were being used to transport the drugs.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Bino Patil confirmed that the liquid ganja seized is estimated to be worth around 8 crores. He described the operation as a major success in the region and assured that investigations are underway to trace the suppliers and smugglers involved in the racket.

The seizure highlights the growing challenge of drug trafficking in remote areas of Odisha, with authorities continuing to intensify their efforts to combat the illegal trade.
