Bhubaneswar, Nov 15: The Board of Secondary Education has announced the results of the OTET 2025 examination, recording an overall pass percentage of 66.50%. Out of 72,413 candidates who appeared for the test, 48,153 have successfully qualified.

The examination was conducted on September 27, following two earlier cancellations caused by the OTET question paper leak controversy. After widespread criticism and allegations, a fresh and independent OTET examination was finally held across 193 centres in the state.

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch has submitted a 300-page chargesheet in the earlier question paper leak case, detailing how the paper was stolen from the laptop of then Vice-Chairman Nihar Mohanty. According to the investigation, DTP operator Jitan Maharana had gained unauthorized access to the laptop, conspired to leak the paper, and circulated it, leading to the cancellation of the exam.

The chargesheet outlines the sequence of events, including how the paper was copied, transmitted, and eventually went viral. So far, eight accused have been arrested, and serious charges have been pressed against them. The scam has links across more than seven districts. However, several brokers and teacher leaders allegedly involved in the case still remain beyond the reach of the Crime Branch, raising questions about the pace and scope of the investigation.

A total of 75,404 candidates had originally applied for the OTET. The repeated leaks had placed the Board of Secondary Education under intense scrutiny. In connection with the case, the Board's Vice-Chairman and several employees and teachers have already been arrested.
