New Delhi, Nov 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended heartfelt wishes to the people of Uttarakhand on occasion of the state’s 25th Foundation Day and said that this divine land is today gaining a new pace of progress in every field along with tourism.

He also prayed for the “happiness, prosperity, good fortune, and excellent health of the humble, hardworking, and divine-like people of Uttarakhand.”

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, PM Modi wrote, “On the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Uttarakhand, I extend my heartfelt best wishes to all my brothers and sisters of the state. Nestled in the lap of nature, this divine land is today gaining a new pace of progress in every field along with tourism.” He added that he prays for the “happiness, prosperity, good fortune, and excellent health of the humble, hardworking, and divine-like people of Uttarakhand.”

Similarly, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, under whose leadership the state was carved out of Uttar Pradesh on November 9, 2000, becoming the 27th state of India, and said, “His farsightedness and sensitive leadership gave Devbhoomi a new identity.”

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, CM Dhami called the day a “silver jubilee of struggle, values, and dedication”. He highlighted the achievements of the “double-engine government” and stated that the state has made “remarkable progress in connectivity, infrastructure, industry, tourism, education, health, and women’s empowerment.”

He highlighted that the state’s development model strikes a balance between environmental conservation and progress, placing Uttarakhand among the top-performing states in the Sustainable Development Goals Index.

Dhami also pointed to the success of the government’s tourism initiatives — including the Char Dham Yatra, Kanwar Yatra, and various temple redevelopment projects — which, he said, have given the state “a new identity.” He further mentioned that the state has attracted record industrial investments worth ₹3.5 lakh crore, of which over ₹1 lakh crore has already been realised.
