Sambalpur, July 19: In a tragic incident, a man allegedly committed suicide by hanging in Burla town of Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Sharma (35) and the incident has been reported from Sri Ram Vihar of the town.
As per reports, Rahul was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his residence, having reportedly used a bed sheet.
Upon discovering the situation, family members immediately rushed Rahul to the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), where doctors declared him brought dead.
Prima facie findings revealed that Rahul, who was living with his family, had allegedly sent suicide note messages to some of his friends on WhatsApp before taking the extreme step.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent it for postmortem.
A case of unnatural death has been registered and further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
