New Delhi, January 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Pongal as a global festival that promotes harmony with nature and celebrates the hard work of farmers. Speaking at a Pongal celebration at Union Minister L Murugan's residence, Modi emphasized the festival’s message of gratitude to the land and the Sun.

He highlighted that Pongal is a reminder that gratitude should be an integral part of life, urging people to cherish and protect the Earth. The prime minister praised the Tamil community for celebrating the festival with enthusiasm worldwide, noting that Tamil culture, one of the oldest civilizations, continues to inspire India's future.
