Kolkata, Oct 13: The West Bengal Police on Monday said all five accused in the alleged gang rape case of Durgapur private medical college student are now in custody with the arrest of two more individuals.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate, Abhisekh Gupta said with two more arrests, all five accused have been taken into custody based on the complaint filed.

Earlier, a Durgapur court had given police custody for 10 days to the three arrested persons in this case.

A second-year medical college student, hailing from Jaleswar in Odisha’s Balasore district, was allegedly raped by some men on 10th October night outside the campus of the private medical college in Durgapur.

The survivor had reportedly gone with one of her friends for dinner, police said.

The girl is undergoing treatment at the hospital itself and has given her statement to the police.
