
Bhubaneswar: An athlete is always having special passion for the ground and its events. Odisha’s veteran women sprinter Malabika Mishra through her distinguished sporting career brought many laurels for the State as well as for the Country, she started a new innings as National Technical Official (Judge) for the World Para Athletics Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from September 25 to October 5, 2025.
Malabika, one among the nine National Technical Officials, has been selected from Odisha for the World meet. This historic championship, to be hosted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, will witness participation from 110 countries, more than 3,000 athletes in 186 events
Currently serving in the HRD Department of OMFED Corporate Office, Malabika expressed her heartfelt gratitude to God, family, and everyone who has supported her. She told “I have progressed in my sports career as a National Gold medallist and continue to actively pursue my sporting journey. Para sports have been a unique and special experience for me. Earlier, I had the opportunity to work at both the State and National levels in Para sports, and today I feel proud to have been selected as a National Technical Official for the World Para Athletics Championship."
Malabika continues to inspire the new generation athletes with her dedication and excellence. She said “behind this achievement lies the constant support of my family, the cooperation of the Managing Director and all HR staff at OMFED, and the blessings of society. I sincerely thank our Para President, Kamalakanta Rath, Secretary Sunil Pradhan, and all members of the association. The courage, struggle, and hard work of Para athletes inspire all of us. My endeavour will always be to fulfil my responsibilities with honour, equality, and dedication, and to raise the name of Odisha and India”.
