Agra, Oct 25: A major fire incident was reported in Patalkot Express (Train Number 14624) near the Agra city on Wednesday evening.
At least two coaches were reportedly affected by the mishap said sources.
The incident took place en route while the Patalkote Express was leaving for Seoni in Madhya Pradesh from Firozpur in Punjab today.
Sources said the incident came to the fore near the Bhadai railway station under the jurisdiction of the Malpura Police Station in Agra while the passengers onboard raised alarm all of a sudden while massive smoke was reported emanating from one of the coaches of the Express train during its journey between Agra and Dholpur.
Notably, the smoke was observed within the General Seating (GS) coach, specifically, the fourth coach from the engine.
Following the incident, the train was brought to an emergency halt, and the affected coaches were promptly detached from the train.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, confirmed Indian Railways.
