Prayagraj, Dec 7: Ahead of the Mahakumbh in 2025, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a key meeting with officials at the Circuit House in Prayagraj to review the progress of preparations for the grand event.
The Mahakumbh, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, is set to begin with the Paush Purnima Snan (bathing ritual) on January 13, 2025, and will conclude on February 26, 2025, with the final bath on the auspicious day of Mahashivratri.
To ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for the millions of devotees expected to attend, authorities are focusing on enhancing infrastructure and facilities. One of the major developments is the construction of a special floating jetty at the Sangam, which will allow devotees to take their holy dip in comfort and also provide facilities for changing clothes. In addition, a large team of specialized doctors will be deployed to ensure the health and safety of both pilgrims and saints during the event.
As part of these efforts, a nearly completed 100-bed hospital at the Parade Ground in Mahakumbh Nagar will provide medical services, while a range of modern accommodations will be built throughout Prayagraj. To cater to the massive influx of visitors, luxurious tents and natural huts equipped with world-class facilities will be erected.
The tent city will offer four categories of accommodation: Villa, Maharaja, Swiss Cottage, and Dormitory, with prices ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 35,000 per night. Additional charges of Rs 4,000 to Rs 8,000 will apply for extra guests (excluding dormitory accommodations).
This ambitious project is designed to accommodate the anticipated 45 crore visitors from over 75 countries, ensuring their comfort and convenience during this once-in-a-lifetime spiritual event.
