Bhubaneswar, March 8: With the wrapping up ceremony of the Maha Shivaratri, the Mahadipa was lifted atop Lord Lingaraj Temple, one of the major Shiv shrines in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar almost ahead of the schedule.
Thousands of devotees ended-up their day-long fasting-brata after the sacred Mahadeepa was lifted atop the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar at around 10.15 pm on Friday.
Following the Bedha Parikrama rituals wherein a group of core servitors of the shrine make a merry-go-round the temple, the holy lamp was lit. Amid spiritual enchants of tens of thousands devotees the servitors climbed atop the majestic temple and put the Mahadeepa at its specified position.
