Mumbai, January 7: Retail sales of electric vehicles (EVs) saw a significant rise of 16.37% in 2025, reaching 22,70,107 units, according to data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers’ Associations (FADA). This surge was largely driven by a 77% increase in electric passenger car sales.

In comparison, the total EV sales in 2024 were 19,50,727 units. The data highlights a remarkable 77.04% growth in electric car sales, which jumped to 1,76,817 units in 2025, up from 99,975 units the previous year. Additionally, sales of electric commercial vehicles (eCVs) rose by 54.2%, with 15,606 units sold, compared to 10,123 units in 2024.
