Bhubaneswar, Feb 6: A jail warder was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside his official residence on the Jharpada Special Jail Campus on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Sarathi Pradhan, a warder of Nayagarh Sub-Jail.

According to police, Sarathi Pradhan’s hung body was recovered from a government quarter allotted to him on the Jharpada Jail campus. Police seized the body from the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter.

Following inquest, the body was sent for post mortem examinations, to ensure the nature of death.

Primary investigations suggest that the warder might have committed suicide. However, the precise reason behind the incident remains unclear.

Police have recorded statements of the family members and the neighbors, to unearth the mystery behind the death of the government servant.

Further investigations are underway. Details on the harrowing incident will be clear once the postmortem report is obtained, said police.
