Gajapati, Jan 17: Inspired by the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a village in Odisha's Gajapati is preparing to install idols of Devi Sita and Lord Ram in the local temple. The residents of Ramagiri plan to consecrate the idols at the Jagannath Temple on January 22, coinciding with the ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Renowned sculptor Binayak Bada Nayak has generously undertaken the task of crafting the idols without any compensation.
According to reports, the idols are in the final stages of completion and will be ready by tomorrow.
Speaking about the project, sculptor Binayak Bada Nayak mentioned, "We commenced the work on the day of Bhumi Pujan in Ayodhya. The temple will also undergo painting. We aim to finish the task by January 18 and conduct the consecration on January 22, synchronizing with the grand ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya."
A member of the temple managing committee, Mrityunjay Maharathi, shared, "For the betterment of our village and the country as a whole, we have organized sankirtan, yajna, prasad sevan, and circumambulation on the consecration day." The ceremony in Ramagiri is anticipated to draw thousands of devotees from 12 panchayats.
