Jajpur, Feb 23: A tragic incident occurred in Solei village, Jajpur district, where a violent clash between two groups led to the death of an elderly person, sparking tension in the area. The deceased has been identified as Gadadhar Alda, a resident of the village, and his wife, Jema Alda.

The clash reportedly stemmed from an earlier dispute between two groups in the village, one involving the local Kumara Sahi and the other the Adibasi Sahi, over the theft of a mobile phone. Tensions had been brewing between the two groups, but the situation escalated when a fight broke out during the night.

During the altercation, Gadadhar was severely injured. He was rushed to the Danagadi Medical Center, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Following the incident, the police quickly arrived at the scene and have started an investigation. Nine individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, and authorities are working to restore peace in the village. Further details are awaited.
