Phulbani, Dec 24: Ahead of Christmas, elaborate arrangements have been made in the Kandhamal district, with a significant focus on security and public safety. The police administration has organized a flag march today, signaling the beginning of enhanced security measures for the holiday season.

The churches and prayer halls in the area have been beautifully decorated with colorful lights, garlands, setting the mood for the festive season. Local Christian communities are eagerly anticipating the celebration, with plans for communal prayers, dances, and songs as part of the festivities.

The police have assured safety by deploying a large force near churches and prayer halls, where they will maintain constant vigilance. Additionally, the Baliguda sub-region, which includes sensitive areas, will see heightened monitoring, including the establishment of check posts and barricades at various locations.

To further ensure security, alcohol sales have been banned for two days. Authorities are also urging people to ignore rumors and false information circulating on social media.

A total of approximately ten platoons of police force have been deployed in the area, along with special teams from CRPF, BSF, and other security units. Necessary precautions have been taken, and police personnel will remain stationed at strategic locations. Baliguda's SDPO and other police officials have assured the public of tight security throughout the celebration period.
