Angul, Oct 25: In yet another instance of human-animal conflict reported from Badahali village under the Banarpal block in Odisha’s Angul district, a lone tusker trampled an elderly man to death on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Bijan Dakua.

According to reports, the incident took place in the morning when a lone tusker was reportedly straying near the Badakhali village. It trampled Dakua near his house while he ventured out for his paddy field in the morning.

Upon receiving the information, locals rushed to the spot to rescue him from the pachyderm.However, the fireced jumbo threw Dakua once again in front of the crowd resulting him to die on the spot.

Forest officials and police visited the scene, recovered the body from a pool of blood and sent it for post-mortem examinations.
