Lokmanya Tilak Express train derails in Assam, no casualties reported

Lumding (Assam), October 17: Eight coaches of the Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express derailed at Dibalong station in Assam's Lumding division on Thursday around 4 PM. 

A railway spokesperson confirmed that the incident occurred in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill section, but fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported.

 The derailment involved eight coaches, including the power car and the engine of the train. As a result, train services on the Lumding-Badarpur single-line section have been temporarily suspended.

 Relief efforts are underway, with accident relief trains and medical teams dispatched from Lumding, along with senior railway officials to oversee the rescue and restoration operations.
