Balangir, Oct 29: In a tragic incident, a youth was killed after a speeding truck hit his bike near the Giri Gobardhan Temple on National Highway 57 in Odisha’s Balangir district late last night.

The deceased has been identified as Bhoj Barik.

As per reports, Barik, a teacher by profession, was on his way to Tarbha from Dhubalpara on his bike when a truck hit him from behind near the temple and died on the spot.

Local passerby immediately alerted the police after the incident.

Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the body before sending it for post-mortem.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
