Bhubaneswar, November 15: A day after the BJP swept the Nuapada bypoll, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi sharpened his criticism of BJD president Naveen Patnaik, questioning how the saffron party’s choice of candidate could be branded as an act of “treachery.”

Majhi’s remarks came as the BJP celebrated the emphatic victory of Jay Dholakia, who clinched the Nuapada seat with an impressive margin of 83,748 votes.

Taking a direct swipe at Patnaik, the Chief Minister, Majhi, who spearheaded the BJP’s campaign in the constituency, asked, “In what way can fielding the son of late Nuapada BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia as the BJP’s candidate be described as treachery?”
