Bhadrak, January 22: The much-awaited book fair at the Bhadraayani Festival was inaugurated by Minister of Culture Suryabanshi Suraj, drawing large crowds of book lovers, especially the youth. Speaking at the event, the minister expressed his delight at the response and said the fair sends a positive message about the growing interest in reading among the younger generation.

This year marks the first time a book fair has been organized as part of the festival. Each stall saw enthusiastic participation, with young readers flocking to explore a wide range of books. In addition, stalls showcasing handicrafts and cottage industry products, organized by Subhadra Shakti, attracted significant attention.

The evening event also welcomed distinguished guests, including DIG Pinak Mishra. District Collector Dillip Rautaray delivered the welcome address, while ADM Saroj Dutta extended the vote of thanks. Renowned Odissi dancer Sujata Mahapatra was honored by the minister for her contributions to the arts. The program was ably conducted by District Public Relations Officer Madhusmita Mahapatra.

The successful inauguration highlights a growing cultural momentum in Bhadrak, with literature, arts, and traditional crafts coming together to engage and inspire the community.
