Reliance Strengthens Media Arm with Rs 150 Crore Stake in Sikhya Entertainment

Jio Studios partners with Oscar-winning team for new content

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move that promises to reshape the Indian content landscape, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has expanded its media footprint. On February 2, 2026, Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited (RSBVL) confirmed that it has secured a 50.1% equity stake in Sikhya Entertainment Private Limited (SEPL).

According to official reports, the deal was finalized for a cash consideration of Rs 150 crore. This strategic acquisition is set to empower Jio Studios, the media arm of RIL, allowing it to consolidate its leadership in the entertainment sector.

Merging Scale with Creative Excellence

This partnership aims to combine the massive reach and infrastructure of Jio Studios with the creative brilliance of Sikhya Entertainment. Founded by Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, Sikhya is celebrated for bringing unique, culturally rooted Indian stories to a global audience.

The collaboration will focus on co-creating feature films and web series designed for viewers both in India and abroad.

A Legacy of Awards

Sikhya Entertainment holds a unique distinction in the Indian film industry. It is the only production house to have won both an Academy Award (Oscar) and multiple National Film Awards.
