Bhadrak, Aug 13: In a tragic incident, one person lost his life reportedly in a lightning strike in Banta block of Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
The deceased has been identified as Sal Khan Hansda.
The incident has been reported from Tilo village under Banta block.
As per reports, Sal had gone to his farmland yesterday and did not return home.
Worried about his whereabouts, his family members launched a frantic search and found him lying in the farmland this morning.
Though the exact reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he might have been killed in a lightning strike.
Notably, around 20 female students of Odisha Adharsha Vidyalaya (OAV) in Garadpur block of Odisha’s Kendrapara district sustained injuries after lightning struck their classroom.
They were rushed to the Patkura Community Health Centre (CHC) and later two of them were shifted to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) as their health condition deteriorated.
