Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: Odisha is experiencing severe cold conditions, with temperatures plunging across the state. Kantamal in Boudh district has emerged as one of the coldest regions, with mercury dropping to 8°C. Early mornings are being shrouded in dense fog, reducing visibility to just 100 meters, making travel hazardous.

The biting cold now begins from the evening itself, forcing residents to stay indoors and take extra precautions. The harsh weather has persisted for several days, with locals struggling to cope with the freezing temperatures and limited visibility due to fog.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of continued dense fog in isolated pockets of Odisha during 19th and 20th December, urging people to remain cautious while traveling in the morning hours.

Authorities have advised residents to stay warm, avoid unnecessary travel during dense fog periods, and take all safety measures amid the cold wave.
