Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: The eight-day-long Khandagiri Magha Mela, organized under the convenorship of the Vishwa Sanatana Vedic Dharma Parishad with support from the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, concluded on Sunday with the celebration of Agni Utsav at Khandagiri.

The concluding day began with Vedic chanting, Chaturveda recitation, and yajna rituals conducted according to Yajurveda mantras by the brahmacharis and brahmacharinis of Rourkela Vedavyasa Gurukul Vedic Ashram, led by Brahmachari Brahmananda Gaurav. Brahma Swami Atmananda Saraswati presided over the yajna, while Sunil De coordinated the proceedings. Several saints and monks, including Bishesh Chaitanya Baba, Alok Das, Chandan Das, Babuli Baba, Bhaskar Baba, Shri Krishna Maharaj, Abhi Baba, Naba Das, Chittaranjan Das, Kalyani Baba, and Bhaktacharan Das, assisted in the rituals.

On the final day, Ekamra (Bhubaneswar) MLA Babu Singh, former MLA Ashok Panda, Corporator Ramchandra Ranasingh, and social worker Himanshu Shekhar Chhotaray attended the event as guests. The evening witnessed the Purnahuti of the yajna followed by the Agni Utsav, during which chants of “Om Agni Devaya Namah” reverberated across the Khandagiri area. As part of the fair’s main attractions, khandakhiri was distributed among devotees.

Meanwhile, the Ram Rajya Documentary Message Collection Campaign was launched on the concluding day. The programme, organized jointly by Ama Parivar and Rajadhani Sangrami Seva Sangha, was inaugurated by Naga Baba Shivananda Giri Maharaj through a symbolic bird-release ceremony. Director Chandrabhanu Kar, social workers Pratap Sahu and Manas Sahu, along with several saints and prominent personalities, were present.
