Nayagarh, July 1: On the basis of reliable information, a team of Special Task Force (STF), Odisha with the help of Nayagarh Forset Division officials conducted a raid on the side of NH-57 near Kamarashi under Dasapalla in Nayagarh regarding dealing of wildlife products and arrested a wildlife criminal in this connenction.
The accused has been identified as Bairagi Behera (44), son of Krushna Chandra Behera of Soroda of the district.
During search, the officials seized one leopard skin along with other incriminating materials from the accused’s possession. The person could not produce any authority in support of possession of such leopard skin for which he has been apprehended and is being forward to the Court of JMFC, Dasapalla.
The skin will be sent to Director WII, Dehradun for biological examination.
Further investigation in this regard is underway.
