Balangir, August 11: A lecturer in Odisha’s Balangir district was held on Friday for allegedly slapping a student of his college.

The accused has been identified as Sachin Kheti, a lecturer at the Balaji College in Balangir.

According to the complaints lodged with the Puitala Police, Kheti slapped a student, identified as Sahil Bari on the allegation of commenting a woman lecturer during a class. Following this, the parents of the ward moved police station and lodged a complaint in this connection.

Acting on it, the police initiated an investigation and lodged a case against the teacher.
