Bhubaneswar, July 25:The fallout of Odisha government’s ruling on ‘No petrol in plastic bottle’, is taking a dramatic turn across the state, especially in the rural suburbs.
Consumers requiring a meager volume of petrol for their bikes and agricultural equipments are facing immense trouble after the Odisha government bottlenecks selling petrol in plastic bottles, following a series of self-immolation bids.
In a dramatic incident, as if obeying the law to letter, a man carried his bike’s tank to collect fuel for his vehicle as carrying petrol from the service stations in plastic bottle, is banned.
The unprecedented scene unfolded at a petrol pump at Badamba in the Cuttack district on Friday.
While a crowd of people was seen queuing out at the petrol pump, a man reached here with a sole tanker, uninstalling it from his bike, to collect fuel.
Though it seemed as a caricature for the onlookers, the man indeed collected petrol, paid the dues and rushed to his destination, where his bike was stranded en-route, for exhausted fuel.
Worth mentioning, the Odisha Petrol-diesel Dealers’ Association has strictly carried out the Odisha government’s ruling on providing petrol in platstic bottle. However, the common consumers needing small quantity of fuel suffer a lot for the strictly implemented rule. It’s why they adopt other innovative and funny ways to collect petrol for their vehicles during emergency.
