Cuttack, Oct 13: A newspaper distributor in Odisha’s Cuttack reportedly died on Thursday due to alleged lapses of the SCB doctors.
The deceased, Iswar Chandra Behera who was associated with the PrameyaNews7 Group, was found collapsed before the Cardiology department while he was standing in the queue, for fetching a registration ticket from the counter.
According to the allegation raised by the activists of Odisha Rogi Adhikar Mancha, Behera was rushed to the SCB Medical College & Hospital a few days ago as he complained of acute pain in his chest. The doctors, assigned in the casualty advised him of a cardiologist’s consultation. Accordingly, Behera reached the department and came in the queue crowd, gathered before the registration counter. Meanwhile, he tried his best to have a ticket for his quick check-up as his chest pain became more acute, but in vain. Rather he collapsed on the floor within a few minutes.
Being informed, activists of the Rogi Adhikar Mancha knocked the Medical Superintendent's Office and sought action against the treating doctor, who shabbily dealt with Iswar despite his appeal to admit him soon.
