Bhubaneswar, December 9: The State Government on Tuesday signed two MoUs to empower farmers and modernise agricultural outreach in Odisha.

The MoUs were signed between the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department and Fisheries & ARD Department with Heifer Project International and Tatwa Technologies Ltd.

The department signed an MoU with Heifer Project International to boost Ginger, Turmeric & Millets value chains under The Public-Private Partnership for Agriculture Value Chain Development (PPPAVCD) initiative.

Another MoU was inked between Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, Fisheries & ARD Department and Tatwa Technologies Ltd. for the operation and management of Odisha’s digital mobile extension service “Krushi Samrudhi Helpline.”

The MoU signing event held at Krushi Bhavan in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Kanak Vardhan Sing Deo and Fisheries & ARD Department Minister Gokulananda Mallick.

“Today, we took another decisive step towards empowering our farmers and modernizing agricultural outreach in Odisha. Proud to witness the signing of two transformative MoUs,” the Deputy CM posted on X:

“The objective of the MoU with Heifer Project International is to strengthen the value chains of ginger, turmeric, and millets under the PPPAVCD initiative -unlocking new opportunities for our agri-entrepreneurs,” said the Deputy CM.

The MoU with Tatwa Technologies Ltd is for the operation and management of the Krushi Samrudhi Helpline - a mobile-based extension service that will bring expert guidance directly to farmers’ fingertips, he wrote.

“Together, these partnerships reaffirm our commitment to innovation, inclusion, and prosperity in Odisha’s agri and allied sectors,” wrote the Deputy CM.
