Bhubaneswar, Aug 9: The families of freedom fighters in Odisha will soon get pension under the ‘Kutumba’ scheme, announced Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday.
The scheme, which aims to provide financial assistance to the families of those who fought for India’s independence from Britishers, will be introduced soon.
On the occasion of Kranti Divas, commemorating the anniversary of the Quit India Movement, CM Majhi recognized the longstanding demand for such a scheme and assured that the government is diligently working on developing the necessary framework and that steps will be taken soon to implement the scheme.
Families of the freedom fighter will soon be identified, he added.
