Jeypore, Oct 28: In a tragic incident, a senior revenue assistant was found hanging in her official residence at the Baipariguda block in Koraput district.
The deceased, identified as Sandhyarani Nayak, is suspected to have committed suicide by hanging herself with a stole in her room.
Nayak had been residing alone in the quarter, and her room had remained closed since Dussehra festival. Concerned by a strange odor emanating from her residence, local residents alerted the police authorities.
Being informed, a police team led by Baipariguda Inspector-in-Charge Susant Satpathy arrived at the scene. They broke open the door to recover the hanging body.
The motive behind such incident has yet to be ascertained.
