Koraput, May 3: With the General Election-2024 afoot, the Koraput district administration is all set to conduct the first phase of poll with a good number of turnout.
The district admin has braced up for better turnout of voters this time whereas elaborate preparations are in place to increase polling in the Kotia group of villages.
Earlier on March 10 the district administration had organised a sensitization programmes to aware people of their voting rights.
The admin in collaboration of the Potangi Block authorities organised a camp in the Kotia group of villages aiming higher turnout of voters in the upcoming election.
In a slew of awareness programme organised at Kotia, Madkar, Ganjeipadara and Fatusineri villages under the Potangi block, district Collector Keerthi Vasan V with the Potangi BDO and Tehsildar appealed the locals to come, participate and justify their voting rights in the Lok Sabha and Assembly election scheduled on May 13.
At present the administration has adopted smart ways to create awareness on people’s voting rights. Among other forms,virtual reality headset, video messaging and folk music tools are being used to pull attention of the common public.
Apart from it, almost all polling centers have been scheduled to be developed as Model polling boots with voter-friendly amenities.
Underlining elaborate preparations for the polling Koraput District Collector V Kirthi Vasan said, the district officials are working out with an objective that Koraput will set record in voter turnout this time.
