Koraput, Nov 6: Koraput District Collector has reacted to the panchayat elections conducted by Andhra Pradesh in the disputed Kotia region, alleging that misleading information was being circulated by the neighbouring state to create confusion among voters.
According to the Collector, voter turnout in Kotia Gram Panchayat was a maximum of 10 per cent, contradicting claims being made by Andhra Pradesh regarding the polling.
He asserted that the people of Kotia had once again demonstrated their stand by reaffirming that Kotia is an integral part of Odisha.
The Collector also credited the district administration's effective strategy and coordinated efforts for the success of its campaign. He said that the support of various political parties, voluntary organisations in Koraput district and local residents played a crucial role in the initiative.
