Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: Barun Bisoi from Odisha's tribal-dominated Kandhamal district has established his own identity in Bollywood as a foley artist.
His latest work in Sunny Deol--starred super hit movie Gadar 2 has brought him to the limelight.
Barun, the third child of Sribachha Bisoi of Daringbadi has been working as a foley artist in Mumbai since 2007.
Earlier, he has worked as a foley artist in Bollywood movies Bajirao Mastani, PK, 3 Idiots, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Rustom, Padmaavat and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
However, his journey was no less than a movie script itself. Barun lost his father in 1996 while he was studying in Class - VIII. He worked as a tailor from his teenage to help his widowed mother to run the family.
However, his love for music landed him in Mumbai in 2001 with Rs 400 in savings and Rs 500 borrowed money from a friend.
He landed in the film city Andheri in search of work and joined as a canteen boy in Nataraj Studio with the help of its security guard. There he met the owner of Aradhana Studio, who offered him the job of office boy in 2005. In between, he started learning foley recording and other film-making-related works. He got his first chance as a foley artist in 2007.
