Bhubaneswar, Nov 8: A water treatment plant will be set up to treat the water of drain no - 4 that flows through Utkal University campus in natural way.
A swimming poll, water fountain will be constructed using the water with sitting facility and light decoration in the campus premises under the 'Restoring Blue Wave' project by Bhubaneswar Development Corporation (BDA) and Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL).
The varsity has provided land for the project which will include jungle trail, food zone, open art gallery and parking like other facilities in 32.7 acres of land. A budget of 16,94,18000 has been laid out in this regard.
The drain water will be treated naturally under blue wave project. Chairs will be put up on both sides of the drain with light decoration that has been named Water Front Sitting Area. Besides, decorative trees will be plated to make it more natural.
Initially, a bridge will be constructed from Vani Vihar square for lying a special road to the university campus along with an entrance plaza. Food zone, open gym, yoga pandal, open classroom, informal sitting and open art gallery have been planned to be constructed under the project, said a senior official of BDA.
Former vice-chancellor of Utkal University Dr Abhay Kumar Nayak had given No objection certificate to BSCL in April for the project.
