Bhubaneswar, August 10: A fatal road accident on the Khandagiri flyover in Bhubaneswar on Monday morning claimed the life of a man and left his son critically injured.

According to preliminary reports, the father and son were travelling on a motorcycle when a bus collided with their vehicle on the flyover. The impact threw both of them onto the roadside, leaving them seriously injured.

On receiving information about the accident, Khandagiri Police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured duo. They were subsequently shifted by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared the father dead. The son is currently undergoing treatment.

The accident triggered significant traffic congestion on the Khandagiri flyover as well as the road below it, with a large number of people gathering at the scene. Traffic police and Khandagiri Police were deployed to manage the situation and clear the congestion.

Police have seized the vehicles involved in the accident and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
