Bhubaneswar, Sept 6: Odisha Vigilance conducted simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to the accused Satya Prakash Swain, former superintendent of Jharpada Special Jail in Bhubaneswar, and superintendent of Keonjhar District Jail acting on allegations of amassing huge disproportionate assets.
Acting on a tip-off, raids are being conducted by 12 DSPs, 11 Inspectors SI/ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, at seven places in Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, and Keonjhar.
The searches are being conducted at the following places:
- The residential house of Swain at LB 104 on Plot 912, khata 1072, Govindprasad, Laxmisagar in Bhubaneswar.
- The parental of house of Swain at Plot B-53, Siddhi Vihar, Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar.
- The native village of Swain at Narsinghpur, Dhusuri in Bhadrak.
- The government quarters occupied by Swain at Qr No D-1, Special Jail Colony, Jharpada, Laxmisagar in Bhubaneswar.
- Government quarters of Jail Superintendent at Keonjhar inside the jail campus.
- Office room of Swain, Superintendent of Jail, Keonjhar.
- House of his relative at EB-355, Jharpara, Laxmisagar in Bhubaneswar.
Further investigation is underway.
