Bhubaneswar,April 20:Excise Superintendent, Kendrapara Debi Prasad Mishra was suspended on Friday for allegedly demanding bribe from an IMFL licensee.
Following a departmental and administrative enquiry based on a viral audio in this connection Mishra was immediately put under suspension for dereliction of duty.
Sources said, a viral audio featuring the Excise Superintendent’s conversation with a liquor vendor demanding a sizeable amount of bribe, had came to the notice of the Excise Department.
Following this, Excise Commissioner Narasingha Bhol ordered a department probe and an enquiry by the district admin.
Acting on the inquiry reports of the Joint Commissioner of the Excise and the district Collector , the state government initiated the disciplinary action against Mishra.
