Kandhamal, Feb 25: In an unusual incident of violence, a Maoist-cadre in Odisha’s Kandhamal forest, has been reportedly killed by the fellow militants.

The incident came to fore when the body of a senior Maoist leader was recovered from ground in a forest on Wednesday, by security forces.

The deceased cadre is suspected as Anvesh, a Divisional Committee Member of the KKBN division of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit.

According to police sources, the decomposed body was exhumed from ground in the Tarabadi forest under the Daringbadi police limits.

Anvesh was considered a key figure within the Maoist organization and was reportedly involved in various cases of heinous violence.

Investigation suggests that Anvesh was killed by fellow Maoists as he was leading the militants to to lay down arms before the cops, opting govt’s rehabilitation.
