Bhubaneswar, Jan 11: Former Union Minister and senior BJP MP Jual Oram has expressed his desire to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha election from Sundargarh Lok Sabha seat. He said that this election would be the last election for him.
The five-time MP from Sundargarh and veteran tribal leader of the saffron party, Jual Oram on Wednesday informed in Raurkela that he is eager to fight the last battle from his home turf, Sundargarh Lok Sabha seat.
The former Union Minister was asked about the reports that he might be fielded as a candidate from an Assembly constituency in the upcoming elections.
As the BJP adopted the strategy of fielding the MPs in Assembly seats in other states in 2023, it is believed the party may adopt the same principle in the forthcoming election in Odisha.
The senior BJP leader said that the media does not decide about the candidature of anyone. The central leadership of the BJP will decide in this regard, he said.
