KDCA to host open senior chess championship on Aug 9

Bhubaneswar: The Khordha District Chess Association (KDCA) is all set to host two-day long Khordha District Open Senior Chess Championship here at Apeejay School, Ghatikia, beginning on 9 August. The top 4 merit winners of each section will qualify to the Odisha State Senior Championship-2025.

KDCA has dedicated the championship to Late Sarat Chandra Misra, IPS(Rtd.), Former DGP,Odisha cum Mentor, KDCA.

Total of fifteen (15) trophies in merit section with a cash prize of Rs.30,400/ and forty-eight (48) trophies in age group section from U 5 to U 13 with a cash prize of Rs.16,000/ with best two women, best two physically challenged & best two veterans with a cash prize of Rs.3,600/ will be distributed to winners.

The championship to be organised by Khordha District Chess Association under the aegis of All Odisha Chess Association. The two-days championship is exclusively for Khordha district players.

The entry fees for players is Rs. 600/ for championship. Interested players have to transfer entry fees to the bank account of KDCA. Last day of deposit entry fees is 7th August.
