Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: Bhubaneswar Airport has set a new all-time record in 2025 by handling 5.15 million (51.5 lakh) passengers, securing the 13th position nationwide in terms of passenger traffic. The milestone reflects Odisha’s rapidly expanding air connectivity and sustained growth in the aviation sector.

The achievement is being attributed to the State Government’s B-MAAN Scheme, a long-term initiative focused on modernising aviation infrastructure across Odisha. It also underscores effective coordination with the Central Government’s UDAN Scheme, which aims to strengthen regional air connectivity.

Officials say these combined efforts are helping position Odisha as a key aviation hub in eastern India, while improving accessibility and driving economic growth. The expansion of air services is expected to create new opportunities in trade, tourism, and investment.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Odisha’s aviation sector continues to scale new heights. The Chief Minister’s Office, in a social media post, described the achievement as a step “forward and upward” for the state.
