Puri, Oct 25: Following the end of Navratri and Dussehra, the sacred month-long Kartik rituals have commenced at Srimandir in Puri. This sacred ritual falls on the 11th day of Sukla Pakshya during the month of Ashwin, according to the Hindu almanac.
On this significant day, devotees from across the state gathered at the temple to witness the divine manifestation of Lord Jagannath in the magnificent Radhadamodar Besha, also referred to as Raidamodar Besha.
The Radhadamodar Besha of Lord Jagannath is performed following the Abakasha and Sakala Dhupa rituals within the temple. Furthermore, this special besha is also observed at various mutts and within the premises of the Radha Ballav Mutt, allowing devotees to partake in the sacred experience.
Worth mentioning, the Kartik rituals are inaugurated at the Jagannath Temple in Puri every year, commencing from the Ekadashi tithi during the Sukla Pakshya, the waxing phase of the moon in the Ashwin month. Devotees are blessed with the divine sight of the Raidamodar Besha of Lord Jagannath daily during this period, which extends until Panchak in the Kartik month.
Following Kumar Purnima, the Habisyalis will observe the 'Kartik Brata' from November 26, thus continuing their spiritual journey during this sacred time.
